On Thursday, U.S. European Command released video of a Russian Su-27 fighter jet colliding with a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea. National Security Council coordinator John Kirby said the U.S. has taken steps to "protect our equities" and prevent anyone else from obtaining the drone debris. However, the drone has not been recovered and the U.S. Navy does not have any ships operating in the Black Sea.
