Martin County mothers-to-be may need to make new arrangements.
Cleveland Clinic's Martin North Hospital in Stuart says it will no longer handle labor and delivery, transferring those services to their Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie beginning in April.
The Tradition facility's Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Chirag Choudhary tells CBS 12 News that staffing issues are the main reason for the change.
"So it has been challenging to be able to provide hospitalists or laborists to be able to provide that level of care 24/7 at two different sites."
It means that the nearest birthing centers for Stuart residents will be at least 30 minutes away.
Pre-natal and post-natal care will still be available at Martin North.
