Scorpions were planning to celebrate their 60th anniversary with a Las Vegas residency in February. Unfortunately, the celebration is getting postponed as drummer Mikkey Dee recovers from sepsis, which left him hospitalized over the holidays. The band shared the news on X.

"We regret to inform you that due to Mikkey Dee's ongoing recovery from his recent hospitalization, we have made the decision to postpone our Coming Home to Las Vegas Residency to August 2025," they wrote. "The health and well-being of our brother is of the utmost importance."

The 61-year-old detailed his near-death experience on Facebook earlier this month. "This holiday season, I have been hospitalized with a very serious blood infection (Sepsis),ā€ he wrote. "I was admitted for three weeks but now I am home fighting this bastard bacteria. Thankfully, I have received fantastic care at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, my hometown. So thanks a million to all the Doctors and Nurses that have been giving me the most excellent care."

Before joining Scorpions in 2016, Dee played inĀ MotorheadĀ for more than two decades. During a recent interview, he admitted that he was close to playing with his former bandmate, the lateĀ LemmyĀ Kilmister, again.

"They cut away what was dead and infected and badly infested. It was not a good journey I was on," he toldĀ Swedish newspaperĀ Aftonbladet.Ā "Another day and I'd be playing drums with Lemmy in heaven. I can say that."

Scorpions are now set to play PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino August 14-23. See their statement below.
