A massive grass fire is tearing through West Miami-Dade, and it’s grown to over 400 acres. The Highway 41 Fire-first spotted yesterday near Krome Avenue, west of the Miccosukee Casino, remains at zero containment.
Federal crews are on the scene now, but thick smoke is starting to settle over the trail. Officials warn visibility could drop fast as the day heats up.
If you're heading west, stay alert. There are no evacuations yet, but that could change if the wind shifts.
