A brave rooster in India defended its flock from a lethal king cobra and the epic showdown was captured on video.
In the video (below), the rooster can be seen continuously pecking at the cobra, preventing the snake from striking back. The large cobra was weakened during the fierce and fast battle. The speedy rooster would dart out of range after each peck.
All cobras are venomous and their bite can be fatal. According to National Geographic, the venom from a cobra bite is enough to kill 20 people.
All roosters have a very strong drive to protect their flock from predators. This rooster was determined to herd the snake away from the rest of the flock.
After carrying the snake away from the rest of the chickens, the rooster swallowed it whole.
