A Fort Myers couple just got home from a Maine vacation when they found a 7-foot alligator in their garage.
Torrie Heathcoat's husband, Andy, told her about the gator but she didn't believe him. So, she opened the door to see for herself.
According to Heathcoat, the gator hissed at her and she felt like she was going to have a heart attack. She shut the door and immediately called 911.
Andy Heathcoat made a quick run to the gas station and left the garage door open. He was shocked to see the giant reptile when he returned.
"When my husband said there was a gator in the garage I thought he was kidding. When I open the door it was literally on the other side of the door," said Torrie Heathcoat. "Now I'm terrified that there will be one under my car. I don't know if it came from the lake, I don't know if it came from the reserve."
The gator was relocated to North Fort Myers by Florida Fish and Wildlife.
