A possible military explosive training device was found in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea early Sunday morning, according to reports.
A deputy on patrol spotted the device after it apparently washed up onshore, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.
After deputies secure the area around the device, they called in the sheriff's office bomb squad as well as the U.S. Air Force.
Luckily, the mine was safely removed from the beach.
There was no initial indication of where the military device came from but an investigation is underway.
