On Thursday morning, a 54-year-old man was swimming in the ocean near Disney's Vero Beach Resort and was bit by a shark.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, the man was alert and stable when they arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the type of shark, its size, and other details aren't known.
