MLB Umpire Gets Drilled In The Forehand By Foul Ball, Knocked Out On Field

On Tuesday night, umpire Kerwin Danley took a foul ball to the facemask and it appeared to knock him out cold behind home plate.

During the 6th inning of the Giants vs. Rockies game in San Francisco, Sam Hilliard was up to bat and foul-tipped a pitch right into Danley's face.

Danley immediately fell backward and laid motionless for several tense seconds.

Trainers and fellow umpires rushed out to help Danley. Luckily, he was able to get up minutes later and walked off the field.

According to reports, Danley was "doing well" after the game, however, he was experiencing a "slight headache."

Believe it or not, this is not the first time Danley had a scare behind home plate. He actually has a history of concussions.

Back in 2008, he was hit in the jaw by a fastball. A year later, a broken bat hit him in the head.

Talk about a rough job.
