For the seventh time in franchise history, the Florida Panthers have made it to the postseason.
On Sunday night, they opened at home in front of an excited crowd, and it was apparent they weren't planning on being eliminated like past playoff runs.
However, late in the third period, the Panthers received a bad omen.
At the time, the Panthers were leading the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3. However, things took a turn for the worst after NBCSN cameras captured a brutal Kiss Cam attempt.
The video features a man going in for a kiss with his date. However, she quickly dodges the smooch, leaving the man no other option but to rest his head on her shoulder. Very cringe-worthy.
After this moment, things went downhill for the Panthers. Tampa's Brayden Point tied the game, then scored the game-winner with less than 90 seconds remaining.
There is no question that this botched-kiss-shoulder-rest debacle was the turning point.
