A zookeeper was left with a blood-stained cheek and some pretty scary footage after a python took a bite out of his face.
In the video, zookeeper Jay Brewer is attempting to retrieve some python eggs so experts could help them hatch. However, the snake wasn't too happy about that and decided to lash out to protect her babies.
Brewer was using a hooked pole to help control the giant reptile but put it down so he could handle the eggs, which were clumped together, with both hands.
The snake saw an opportunity and took it. As Brewer's eyes were fixated on the eggs, the snake leaped up and bit him on the face.
Brewer looks at the camera and says, "Ohhhh, I got it right in the face!"
