An alligator handler found herself in quite a terrifying situation, and an unlikely hero came to the rescue.

According to reports, the intense incident happened at Scales and Tails in West Valley City, Utah, during a live alligator show.

While trying to feed the reptile, the gator started leaving its glass enclosure. Then, in a shocking turn of events, the gator bit down on the handler's left hand while she was attempting to push it back into its cage.

Immediately, the alligator starts thrashing around, pulling the handler into the enclosure. Then, just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, the gator starts doing “death rolls," a maneuver alligators use to rip off a limb or whatever they have in their jaws.

The handler is able to roll with the gator right before a random spectator named Donnie Wiseman, who appears to be visiting the zoo with his family, does the unthinkable and jumps on the reptile's back.

Eventually, the alligator releases the handler's hand, but Wiseman is still stuck on the angry alligator's back. Luckily, it wasn't long before Wiseman was safely able to exit the enclosure.
