Detectives are investigating after a man's body was found inside the bed of a pickup truck following a high-speed chase across two Florida counties.
According to reports, the chase began in Palm Beach County on Friday night after PBSO received a 911 call from someone saying they witnessed a shooting.
The caller said two people were attempting to drag the body into a canal. As deputies were heading to the scene, the caller said the two suspects put the victim's body into a grey Ford F-150 and drove off.
Deputies spotted the truck at 6th Avenue and Congress Avenue with a body part of the dead person visible in the rear bed area of the vehicle.
The chase ended on Martin Highway, just off I-95, with the help of Martin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
17-year-old Carlos Castaneda was taken into custody. The female companion also surrendered, but her name has not been released.
