A U.S. Marine Corps veteran is being hailed a hero after he single-handedly disarmed a gun-wielding robbery suspect on Wednesday.
According to reports, the incident happened around 4:30 AM inside a gas station convenience store in Arizona.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office released the surveillance footage, which shows a lone customer talking to the store employee before three suspects enter the Chevron station, one brandishing a handgun.
As the armed robber walks towards the cashier, the customer acts quickly, lunging at the suspect and grabbing the gun.
According to deputies, the customer, a Marine Corps veteran, successfully disarmed the suspect and held him until the police arrived. The other two suspects fled the scene.
"The Marine corps taught me not to mess around," said the customer.
Luckily, no injuries were reported.
