A Texas woman is facing charges after she was caught on video throwing soup in the face of a restaurant worker.
According to reports, the incident occurred on November 7 after a customer called to complain about the soup being too hot and melting the container's lid.
The Sol De Jalisco employee, identified as Jannelle Broland, apologized and attempted to refund the purchase.
After a heated phone conversation, the woman later returned to the restaurant. Once again, Broland tried to calm the woman and offer a full refund.
Then, suddenly, the unidentified angry customer picked up the soup container and threw it in Broland's face.
Later, Broland posted two videos on TikTok to explain her side of the story, and both have since gone viral.
According to Broland, the female customer wouldn't calm down despite her best efforts to fix the situation.
“My eyes were burning, my nose was bleeding, I was in a lot of pain. By the time I wiped it away and could almost see again, there were already customers and staff outside following her out,” Broland said.
Luckily, the soup had cooled off enough not to hurt Broland.
“The spices from it are what hit me the most. I remember feeling the warmth of the soup, but my eyes burned so bad. My nose was burning. It kind of took my breath away for a second because just the burning... I was really in shock from it all,” she said.
Charges against the unidentified woman are pending, and she has been banned from the restaurant.
