The Los Angeles Police Department has released footage showing officers pulling an injured pilot to safety seconds before a train collided with his plane.
According to reports, the single-engine airplane landed on the Metrolink Antelope Valley line train tracks around 2 PM in Pacoima. Rescue crews arrived at the scene and acted quickly to remove the pilot moments before a speeding train crashed into the plane.
The pilot was bleeding from an injury to his head and was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment. He was the only person onboard the plane.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the crash occurred shortly after takeoff from Whiteman Airport.
