A home security system in Canada captured the moment a cat ran away after witnessing a mysterious ghostly mist emerging from some creepy dolls.
According to reports, the eerie scene occurred late last month in Kathy Gallinger's home in Quinte West, Ontario. She set up a camera in her basement, hoping to record some of the paranormal activity allegedly occurring over the past few years.
After checking the footage, she was shocked to see an encounter between her pet cat Salem and a strange mist that some believe was some kind of spirit.
In the video, the curious feline stares intently at a pair of decade-old dolls, which once belonged to her Gallinger's mother, sitting on a small chest.
Suddenly, a mist emerges from the dolls and slowly wafts towards the cat. Salem quickly runs away and takes shelter behind a nearby table.
Gallinger admits the cat's behavior was unusual since "Salem is my protector. That cat goes everywhere with me, so if I do have to go downstairs and I'm nervous, he follows me. It's uncommon for him to show signs of being afraid like that."
Gallinger strongly believes Salem had a close encounter with whatever presence is responsible for the paranormal activity in her home.
After consulting with a psychic, she suspects some kind of sinister force was released by teenagers back in the 1980s who were playing around with a Ouija board inside the residence.
Gallinger has no plans on moving, since "other than a few things moving and just scaring the life out of us, we've become used to it really."
