Eagle-eyed viewers are convinced they spotted a UFO during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee festivities after a white orb mysteriously zipped through the sky over Buckingham Palace.
The odd sighting happened last Thursday as the United Kingdom started its four-day-long celebration of the queen's 70th year as monarch. Flying in formation, nine Royal Air Force jets blasted through the sky, dispensing long red, white, and blue smoke streams.
However, official footage from the flypast appears to show an anomaly zooming across the sky behind the planes. The sighting spread like wildfire on social media, with many viewers wondering what they had witnessed.
Some believe the UFO was an alien craft that appeared over Buckingham Palace to salute the queen's epic seven decades upon the throne.
However, the skeptical viewers suggest it was simply a stationary object that appeared to be moving, also known as the parallax effect.
One final theory is that the orb was simply a rogue balloon, given the nature of the event.
