Miramar, FL - A Miramar veteran received a life-changing surprise courtesy of an air conditioning company dedicated to honoring those who have served.
On Thursday, South Florida air conditioning company Air Pros arrived at the home of Marine Corps veteran Anthony Guadamuz to deliver a brand-new air conditioning unit as an unexpected gift.
“We’re excited—it’s the eve of Veterans Day, and we’re here to surprise a veteran with a brand-new AC unit,” Air Pros spokesperson Krystle Cunningham told WSVN.
This marks the third year the company has donated an air conditioning system to a veteran in honor of Veterans Day.
Guadamuz, this year’s recipient, was stunned by the gesture.
Guadamuz and his French bulldog, Lola, have been living without air conditioning for months.
“I purchased this house in 2021, and I’ve had multiple issues with it,” Guadamuz told WSVN. “The condenser blew not too long ago, and I’ve had multiple guys come out to try and fix things.”
Anthony, who joined the Marine Corps in 2008, served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan during his six years of service, clearing routes of explosives to protect both troops and civilians.
The team at Air Pros said his selfless service made him the perfect candidate for their annual giveaway.
“We have a lot of military veterans that work for our company, and we’re really happy to give back to the community and to someone who’s served our country,” Cunningham told WSVN.
The new air conditioning system, valued at $15,000, comes at a crucial time for Guadamuz, who is also preparing to replace his roof.
