Florida Woman Performs Irish Folk Dance During Sobriety Test

A Florida woman is facing charges after she unsuccessfully tried to avoid being arrested on a DUI charge by performing a traditional Irish folk dance for a sheriff's deputy.

The impromptu dance occurred after Madeira Beach resident Amy Harrington, 38, reportedly rear-ended another vehicle, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. When a responding deputy asked her to take a field sobriety test, Harrington told him his instructions were "ridiculous" and proceeded to perform an Irish jig on the street, bodycam footage reveals. When she finished, the deputy asked her again to take the test. Harrington responded, "Oh my God! You sound like my ballet coach!" She then launched into a second dance, the video shows. At one point during the dance, Harrington tells the deputy, "I just want to go home, dude. Please, I’m begging you."

Clearly, the deputy was not amused. After Harrington told him, "If you're going to arrest me, do it now," he promptly complied, placing her in handcuffs. She's been charged with DUI, refusal to submit to testing and property damage, the sheriff's office reports.

Regardless of the test results, would this video be enough to convict this woman on a DUI charge?
