A TSA officer told police that a pilot appeared to be drunk as he went through security.
They found 52-year-old James Clifton in the cockpit of the plane that was getting ready to depart from Buffalo to Fort Lauderdale.
He admitted to having as many as eight drinks before boarding the plane. His blood-alcohol level was .17. That is four-times the legal limit for flying a plane.
Pilots are barred from drinking within eight hours of a flight. Clifton was arrested and is facing federal charges
