Former News Anchor Arrested Twice In One Night

An ex-news anchor in Northern California has been arrested twice in one night.

Frank Somerville, 65, who admitted in March to doing full newscasts on Berkely’s KTVU while high on Ambien and who says he was “trashed” during an earlier DUI arrest, seems to be getting into more trouble.

Somerville was first popped around 6:30 pm on Monday after getting into a physical fight with his younger brother over “ongoing family issues” involving their 91-year-old dad, whom he allegedly threatened.

He was placed in Berkeley Jail on a $32,500 bond, which he posted, and was released at 2:20 a.m. the following morning, according to police.

However, Somerville went back to the house and rang the doorbell incessantly, saying he couldn’t find his phone.

That’s when cops came back at 4:20 am to find the newsman sitting in his car intoxicated.

He was arrested again and taken to jail on $15,000 bail.
